Comments on Fun in the Sun
Too often in summer camps, scheduled activities and pre-planned fun inhibits the very magic that summer camps hopes to inspire in children. Fun in the Sun not only encourages freedom for fun at Plymouth Swim Club, but also encourages freedom for imagination.
As both a camper and counselor, I’ve been at Fun in the Sun since 1994, only taking two years off to life guard at two other summer camps in the area. The jovial feelings that are invoked by the changing of the seasons from spring to summer always remind me of my imagination and child like innocence that I enjoyed during so many years at camp. As a life guard at these other summer camps, I saw structure and time sensitive activities stifle the natural innocence of summer. Fun in the Sun surrounds it’s campers with a diverse set of kids and puts them in an environment where the imagination can run wild.
I remember as a camper at Fun in the Sun spending endless hours in the pool living as Bulbasor (my favorite Pokemon at the time) as I explored the Pokemon world with Pikachu and Charmander. I wasn’t Bulbasor for just 50 minutes until my counselor told me it was time to do arts and crafts, I was Bulbasor until I decided that I wanted to be Volpix, a Pokeman that can harness the element of fire.
Fun in the Sun fosters the delightful and playful imagination that summer camp should be all about. It encourages parents to ask their child not “What did you do at camp today?” but rather, “How did Bulbasor fair against Team Rocket today?”

Let’s have more “Fun in the Sun”in 2012

Welcome to Fun in the Sun 2012!
I can’t believe that it’s that time of the year when we start getting ready for camp. We are very happy to again have 2 locations for drop off this coming summer.
First location continues to be in Chestnut Hill at:
8836 Crefeld St.
Philadelphia, PA 19118
Second location is in Plymouth Meeting at:
1724 Gallagher Road
Plymouth Meeting, Pa. 19462
(this location is FOR MEMBERS ONLY)
In order to be elegible to sign up for the Plymouth drop off location, your family HAS to be a member of the club.
We are running a special again this year of 10% discount
for those families who sign up their child(ren) for a minimum of 9 full weeks and pay in full for those 9 weeks no later than January 15th: 10% off 9 full weeks or more. 9 weeks x $195 = $1755….-10% ($175)=$1580 (special is only valid for 9, 10, 11 & 12 weeks)

If you choose to pay weekly, Please return the completed application and emergency form along with a non-refundable deposit of $195.00 by January 15.
As all this preparation for a summer of fun must begin well in advance of your child’s attendance, we would greatly appreciate your response by the due date.
